Franklin County Selective Architectural Survey (Adopted in December 2023): The Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Historic Resources (DHR) contracted Hill Studio, PC in August 2022 to conduct a selective reconnaissance survey of historic architectural resources in Franklin County, Virginia. The purpose of this selective historic resources survey project is to increase awareness about the locations and significance of historic properties in Franklin County, particularly those that are either vulnerable to storm damage or associated with under-represented building types and aspects of the county’s history.

Heritage 96 (Adopted in 1996): Heritage 96: A Preservation Strategy was developed by Hill Studio, P.C. with assistance from the Franklin County Heritage Resources Preservation Advisory Committee, to serve as a guide for heritage resources planning in Franklin County. The project consisted of first determining what the archaeological and architectural needs were for Franklin County and from there establishing a preservation strategy.
