School, County, and Non-County Field Directions	Field Abbreviations
Franklin County Parks and Recreation: From Rocky Mount take 220 South until you reach a stoplight. Take a left at the stoplight. Recreation Department will be approximately 2 miles on the right. Waid Park: From Rocky Mount take 40 West towards Ferrum. Turn right onto Six Mile Post Rd. (at Forty West Food Fare Convenient Store). Travel approximately 2 miles. Waid Park is on the left. Larc Field: From Rocky Mount take 220 South. Go through the stoplight on 220 for about 5 miles, you will see signs for the landfill (Larc Field will be on your left), take your immediate left to make a U-turn and Larc Field will be on your right. Lions Field: Located in Rocky Mount on State St. From 220 South take the first Rocky Mount exit, take a left at the first stoplight and Lions field will be on the right. Benjamin Franklin Middle School: Take 220 South from to the first Rocky Mount exit (Bus 220). Take the first left and look for signs. (From 220 North take the 3^rd Rocky Mount exit. Take a left at the stop sign, school is on the left. Franklin County High School: From 220 take Route 40 west. Turn left onto Tanyard and school will be approx. ½ mile on your left. Ferrum College: From 220 take 40 West. Follow signs to Ferrum College. School will be on the right. Glenvar High School: I-81 south to the last Salem exit. Go right off exit to stop light. Turn right on Route 11. Turn right between County Library and Fire Station onto Daugherty Rd. Take a left across the bridge onto Tobey Rd. Then a right on Malus Dr. Glenvar High will be the second school. Northside High School: Take 581 to the Peters Creek South exit. At the first stoplight take a right on Northside High School Rd. Northside Middle School: Located behind Northside High School, see above. Hidden Valley High School: Take 220 N. to Electric Rd. (419) take a left onto 419. Take a left onto Brambleton Ave./Route 221 South. At 2^nd light make a right onto Pleasant Hill Rd. Take right onto Titan Trail to school. Cave Spring Junior High: Take 220 N. to Electric Rd. (419) take a left onto 419. Take a left onto Brambleton Ave./Route 221 South. Cave Spring Junior is on the left after the third stoplight. William Byrd High School: Take 220 North to 460 East/Orange Ave. Take a right onto Gus Nicks Blvd. through Vinton. Stay on Gus Nicks/Route 24 until you see William Byrd on the left. If you pass the parkway you have gone too far. Roanoke County Career Center (RCCC): Take 220 North to 460 East/Orange Ave. Take a right onto Gus Nicks Blvd. Stay on Gus Nicks through one stop light and school will be on the hill to your right before you cross bridge. Rivers Edge Park: Rivers Edge is in front of Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Across the river from Victory Stadium. Take 220 North to Electric Rd., which turns into Franklin. Continue on Franklin, Rivers Edge is on the left. James River High School: Take 220 North to 81 North to Buchanan exit. Go through Buchanan take a left onto Route 43, toward eagle rock. Go approx. 5 miles and school will be on your left. Lord Botetourt High School: Take 220 North the 81 North to exit 150. Take the 220 North exit towards Fincastle. Lord Botetourt High School will be on your left. Read Mt. Middle School: From 460 – 460 West to 654. Take a left on 654 and then a left on Orchard Hill Dr. Orchard Hill Drive takes you the school. From Route 11 – Going from Roanoke to Cloverdale take a right on 654 and a right on Orchard Hill Dr. William Clark Middle School: 220 N to Fincastle. Turn right on Back St. (across from Capt. Seafood). Go to the end of Back St. and turn left. Stay on that road until you see Poor Farm Rd. to your left. School will be on your left. Blue Ridge Park: Take Orange Ave./460 East. At the General Shale Sign (Old Webster Brick) take a right onto Webster Rd./Route 738. Go 1 ½ miles, park sign will be on your left. Take a left into the park to field. Troutville Elementary: Take 220N to 81N to exit 150. Take a left on Route 11 North. Go about 6 miles, turn right on Route 651. Go about ¼ mile and school is on your right. Breckenridge Elementary: Take I-81N to route 220 north 9 miles to Fincastle. Right on Back St., or to dead end. Take a left, school is 100 yards on your left. Cloverdale Elementary: Take route 11 north. Right at stoplight onto Reed Mountain Rd. Cross Railroad tracks and take first left. School will be on your right. Greenfield Recreation Area: 220 North to Fincastle. Turn left onto Blacksburg Rd. Go approximately 6 miles, turn left on to Etzler Rd. Go approximately 3-4 miles. Field will be on your left before Greenfield Elementary School. Stewartsville Field: From Vinton take 24 East towards Stewartsville/Smith Mtn. Lake. You will pass under the Blue Ridge Parkway exit and immediately see a stoplight. Proceed straight through the light, travel approximately 2-3 miles and you will take a left at your next light on to Jordantown Rd. Fields will be 1/10 mile on right. Park in either gravel parking lots. Greenfields #1 and #2: Take 220N to I-81 North from Roanoke to exit 150B (Troutville-Route 11), take a right onto 220 north for approx. 2 miles, after passing Lord Botetourt High on the left go to stoplight TAKE a left on Route 779, continue on 779 approx. 3 miles, turn right on Etzler Rd., continue on Etzler for approx. 1.5 miles passing the Greenfield Elementary School. Greenfield Recreation Area will be on the right (soccer fields can be seen from the road.) Darrell Shell Fields: Take 220N. Take a left onto Buck Mountain Rd. After crossing railroad tracks take a right onto Merriman road. Fields are beside Penn Forest Elementary which will be to your immediate right. Fallon Park: Take 220N to Elm Ave. Exit. Turn left at stoplight onto Jamison Ave. Follow to Fallon Park School. Field is behind school. Goode Park: From 220 take Route 24 East. Turn left onto Pollard St. At next stoplight turn left onto Gus Nicks/Washington Ave. Turn left onto Leisure lane just past Blue Ridge Plaza. Field is straight ahead. Greenhill Park: Take 220N to I-81 South. Take exit 137. Take a right onto Wildwood Rd at the end of the exit ramp. Go to the signal and turn right onto West Main St. Proceed to second traffic signal (Duiguids Ln. at Lawrences Market) and turn left. Cross railroad tracks and Roanoke River. Entrance to park will be a short distance on your right. Kiwanis Field: 220N to I-81S. Take exit 141. Go South on Route 419 to Texas St. (Alt. 11 or 460 business) turn left on 6^th St. and turn left into the parking lot for Kiwanis Field. Rivers Edge Sports Complex: Take 220N to Colonial Ave. exit. Take right on Colonial and follow Colonial to Brandon Ave. stop light. Take right onto Brandon and take next left onto Franklin Rd. Take next right onto Wiley Dr. Fields on right, located in front on Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Vineyard Park: (Vinton) from 220 N. take Route 460 East. Turn right on to Gus Nicks Blvd at Hardee’s. Turn left on to King St. Go approximately ¾ miles and turn right onto Berkley Rd. Park is on the right approximately ¼ mile down the road. Jaycee Field: (Vinton) Take 220 N. to Elm Ave (Route 24 East). Turn left onto South Pollard St. Then turn right onto Gus Nicks Blvd/Washington Ave. Continue on Washington Ave. and turn left into the Vinton War Memorial parking area. Jaycee field is located adjacent to the Vinton War Memorial. Gearhart Park: (Vinton) Take 220N. to Elm Ave. (Route 24 East). Turn left onto South Pollard St. Then turn left onto Washington Ave/Gus Nicks Blvd. After you cross the bridge you will take a left onto Highland Rd. just before the Roanoke County Career Center. Follow Highland Rd. all the way into the parking area. Arnold R. Burton Softball Fields: Take Electric Rd./Rt. 419 to Roanoke-Salem Blvd. Turn towards the Veteran Administration Hospital. Arnold R. Burton School is approximately ½ mile on the right. Softball fields are behind the school. Bent Mountain Elementary School Park: Take Rt. 221 towards Bent Mountain/Floyd County. Go past Bent Mountain Rescue Squad. Turn right onto Tinsley Ln. Park is to the right of the school. Bonsack Park: Take Rt. 460 towards Blue Ridge. Turn left onto Rt. 604 (Alt. Rd. 220) at traffic signal. Take the first left onto Crumpacker. Take the second right (Bonsack Elementary School). Park is immediately on your left. Brookside Park: Take Hershberger Road towards Friendship Manor. Turn left onto Florist Rd. Turn right onto Verndale Rd. Clearbrook Park: Take Rt. 220 N. Take a left onto Indian Grave Rd. next to Clearbrook Elementary School. Park is behind the school. Garst Mill Park: From Rt. 419 turn onto Brambleton Ave. (Rt. 221N) at Cave Spring Corners. Turn left at the first traffic light onto Garst Mill Rd. Turn left onto Halevan. Park will be down on the left. Ingersoll Rand Park: Take Williamson Rd./Rt. 11N towards Hollins. Turn right onto Shadwell Dr. just past Webb’s Oil Company. Turn right onto Old Mountain Rd. Park is approximately 1 block down on right. Mount Pleasant Park: From Insterstate 581, take Rt. 24 E (Elm Ave.). Turn right onto 13^th St. at the traffic signal (13^th street will turn into Bennington Ave. At the Roanoke City Fire Station turn left onto Mt. Pleasant Blvd. (Rt. 886). Bear left at the Mt. Pleasant sign, then left again past Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Pitzer Rd. Park is on the right behind the school. Oak Grove Park: From 419, turn onto Grandin Rd. Extension between Oak Grove Plaza and Oak Grove Elementary School. Entrance to the park is on the right above the school. Starkey Park: From Rt. 419 turn onto Starkey Rd. Go to the stop sign at the railroad tracks. Turn right onto Merriman Rd. Then turn left onto Crystal Creek Dr. Park will be down the road on the left. Stonebridge Park: Take 220N to Rt. 24E heading out to Vinton. Take the first left past William Byrd High School onto Stone Bridge Dr. Go to the end and turn left onto Robindale. At the end of Robindale, you will turn right into the park. Walrond Park: From interstate 81N take exit 146 (Hollins exit). Turn right off the exit ramp on to Planation Rd. Turn right onto Walrond Dr. (beside double envelope). Walrond Drive deadends in the park. Whispering Pines Park: From Insterstate 81, take exit 141 (Rt. 419 and 311). Turn right from 81 N and left from 81S off exit ramp toward New Castle. Continue to traffic signal. Turn right onto Rt. 311. Take the first right after the Moose Lodge onto Absalom Smith Rd. Park is about ½ mile on right. Ted Webber Field: Take 220N to 419 towards Salem. Take a left at Apperson Dr. Take a left at next light (at Orange Market), then take a right on Front St. Go to stop sign and continue on Front St. Ted Webber Field is on the right with parking available in front of the field. Salem High School: From Interstate 81 take exit 140 (Roanoke College exit) onto Thompson Memorial Dr. Go to traffic signal and turn right onto Main St. Continue on Main St. for several miles. Take right on Spartan Dr. Rick McCoy Field: From Moyer Sports Complex-Go straight out of complex onto Union St. Cross railroad track and take a left at stoplight onto 4^th St. Go 2/10 mile and turn left at Timber Truss. Cross the railroad tracks, field is on the left. Salem Kiwanis Field: Take 419 towards Salem. Turn left on Roanoke-Salem Blvd. Pass in front of Salem Civic Center, go to stoplight. Take a left. Take a left onto Florida St, and then left on 6^th St. Ball field is on the left. Oakeys Field: (Salem) Take 419 all the way to Salem. Turn left at McDonalds/Lakeside Plaza instersection. Oakeys field will be about a mile on the right across from Berglund.
