PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to the Franklin County Code the Franklin County Planning Commission hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 6:00pm in the Franklin County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room located in the Franklin County Government Center, 1255 Franklin Street, Rocky Mount, VA  24151 to which all interested parties are invited in reference to the following requests:

  1. APPLICATION for SPECIAL USE PERMIT – Application of Joe Palotas and Jessica Palotas, Applicants and Owners, requesting a Special Use Permit with possible conditions, to allow for carnivals, circuses, fairs, and other events lasting more than ninety-six hours but less than four months, on property consisting of two parcels, totaling approximately 2.55 acres. The property, currently zoned A-1, Agriculture, is located at 173 Kemp Ford Road in the Union Hall District of Franklin County and is further identified by Franklin County Real Estate Records as Tax Map/Parcel #s 0660301700 and 0660301800. Carnivals, circuses, fairs, and other events lasting more than ninety-six hours but less than four months is a permitted use by issuance of a Special Use Permit in A-1 Agriculture zoning districts. The property has a future land use designation of low density residential and is located in the Union Hall Village.
