Pursuant to the Franklin County Code the Franklin County Board of Zoning Appeals hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 6:00pm in the Franklin County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room located in the Franklin County Government Center, 1255 Franklin Street, Rocky Mount, VA  24151 to which all interested parties are invited in reference to the following request:

  1. APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE – Application of Frank T. Zwolinski, Applicant, and Phillip R. Green and Wanda L. Green, Owners, requesting a variance to Section 25-284(c), Minimum Dimensions, Rear Yard of the Franklin County Code. The property is currently zoned RMF, Residential Multi-Family District, and located at 94 Windlass Pointe Drive in the Gills Creek District, said property further identified on Franklin County Real Estate Records as Tax Map/Parcel # 0310703300. The purpose of the variance request is to allow for the removal of an existing nonconforming 12’ x 20’ deck and construction of a 12’ x 20’ sunroom in the same location. Section 25-284(c) requires a minimum rear setback of thirty (30) feet. The proposed sunroom on the property is located approximately seven (7) feet from the rear property line thus a rear setback variance of twenty-three (23) feet is requested.
